Obituary of John Agnetti
John Agnetti of Troy, Michigan, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.
Beloved husband of Vera for 54 years. Loving father of Michael Agnetti, Michele (Don) Perella and Mark (Anne) Agnetti. Dear grandfather of Caleb and Abigail, Ellis and Owen. Brother of Bill, Carrie, Rick and Patty.
John was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He excelled in baseball early on, and his talent led him to play in the minor league as third baseman for the Detroit Tigers and the New York Mets. He later transitioned to a career with the Greyhound Bus Line. He drove regular passenger routes in the Midwest, as well as bus tours across the United States. Perhaps being on the road so much inspired his love of travel and seeing new places. He was fortunate to see the world on several international trips with his beloved wife, Vera, and he especially appreciated the beautiful, natural scenery of God’s creation. The simple things in life gave John great pleasure: pride in having the most manicured yard on the block, visits from the grandchildren he adored, a good card game with family and friends. John always had a friendly disposition, a great sense of humor, a warm heart, and offered a big smile and helping hand whenever he could. He will be greatly missed.
