Taking care of my mom for the past years was something I did because thats what I was taught, by her...the importance of family. No, it wasnt easy , but when you put yourself aside and do whats right by family the rewards are neverending. I never thought I would miss her harsh criticism, "tough love" , but its made me who I am as the daughter who was able to endure as her caregiver until the end of her journey. Even though "her light went out" years ago there were still glimpses of her that would surface to make me smile. I have nothing but fond memories of my childhood thanks to my great parents. Thankyou Mom, rest in peace. You're free and I will see you again.

Our Auntie Kay. The memories are many as you gifted us with your time, talent, love, and support. All of my children: Lukas, Eliza, Grant and David, each had their own unique bond with you and will cherish their memories. You were a constant counselor for our entire family with every decorating decision to be made. We were blessed with the big Dungan Family gatherings for holidays. I recall going to your house on many Christmas Eve's and awed by the handmade ornaments decorating the tree, the beautifully wrapped packages, and the delicious food. Best Christmas Eve memory... when you had Donna, Katie, Kristy and I put on a little show which ended with us singing and hugging the next person to begin the song, all while you played the piano to keep us in tune. Tears flowed from Uncle Bill by the time it got to him! Filled with smiles as the good memories continue to pop into my head. Truly blessed to have shared 'moments' with your throughout the years. Love you. Until we meet again. XO

My Auntie Kay. How your spark and spunk will be sorely missed in this world. I will never forget so many things but for some reason, it is some of the sillier ones standing out-Your overalls, your yellow VW, your always exquisite garden, the ornaments you gifted us Dungan boys every Christmas that still hang on our trees today, your thoughtful birthday gifts that were usually cool little boxes or trinkets that I still have in my home and that I have kept throughout my travels. And, throughout the years, your steadfastness in rooting for the Detroit Tigers. I always appreciated your frankness and your ability to tell it like it was, a trait I undoubtedly inherited through osmosis from being around you.
You will be missed Auntie. May the four winds blow you safely home.
Godspeed,
Jeff

Katie was a wonderful woman and a good friend. I met her through Circare. During the shop's first year I had to close the store for a weekend so my Mom and I could attend my brother's wedding. When I returned Katie bawled me out, saying never close the store, she would work for me.... and so began a warm and wonderful friendship.

Grandma was the orchestrator of so many great memories growing up. Whether it be sugar loaf trips with everyone, coming to my hockey games, hosting holidays, or just spending time with us as we were kids, they were all great memory’s that I’ll hold dear for the rest of my life. I love you grandma and thank you for the lasting impact you’ve had on all of us.

The light of my dear ‘sister’ went out a few years ago, but she taught me so many things when I was a new bride, homeowner and mother. We sure had some good times. She leaves behind a trove of her artistic treasures. Her two surviving daughters both have her gift for making a beautiful home, gardening and cooking. Many grand and great grandchildren.
