Martha was a wonderful mentor to me because she and I both worked in Romeo School District. Although we were both teachers, she and I met at the Rochester High School Community Swim. It was there that she taught me about what a beautiful community Romeo and its schools would be for me--for a lifetime. Martha was an honest, gentle, and unconditionally loving lady who emphasized to this young teacher that Romeo would always be good to me, and that I could swim laps in the retirement decades of my life.
