Obituary of Muriel J Strebe

Muriel Hutchinson Strebe age 93 of Farmington Hills, MI passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023.   Muriel was born to Frank and Verna Hutchinson,  Clyde, Ohio.

Muriel graduated from Clyde High School ('47) and went on to Bowling Green State University, College of Education - Class of 51.  Started her graduate work at Duke University then completed and received a Master of Education degree from Wayne State University in 1965.

Muriel taught Intermediate grades in the Livonia Public School from 1961 until her retirement in 1986.  Muriel loved teaching and tried to make education both meaningful and enjoyable.

In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, "birding and viewing wildflowers, going to Elderhostels, and attending many varied musical events and plays.

Muriel belonged to 3 local Audubon groups, 2 chapters of Michigan Botanical Clubs, and the Local Friends of the Library.  

Muriel was an active member of Nardin Park United Methodist Church in Farmington Hills, MI, and a large contributor to their music department and summer concerts.

Muriel requested that her legacy be a tribute to her parents Verna and Frank Hutchinson, who provided her the opportunity of a wonderful education and the most special extracurricular activities of Treble Clef and the concert tours they took each spring.

Memorial will be held at a later date.
