Obituary of Terry Johnson

On Saturday, August 19, 2023, Terry Johnson, husband, father and grandfather, passed away after a long battle with prostate cancer. 

Terry was born in Detroit, Michigan, on November 19, 1955, to Troy Augustus Johnson and Vera Lee (Carruthers).

Terry worked as a city bus driver in Detroit and Ohio.  He was always a great and kind-hearted person.  Terry became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 2009, and he loved Jehovah.

Terry had a love for music, and he loved the Temptations and the Dramactics.  He loved singing, skating and ball room dancing.

Terry was preceded in death by his father and mother, and his sister Linda.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Linda Jones-Johnson;  his children Dewon, Jovon, Tiera, Jalisa and Sylvia;  step-children Shanna, Marki, Marla and Michelle;  his siblings Delores, Debbie, Lisa, Lenard, Michael, Kenny, Anthony and James;  and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Terry (AKA Dappy) will be missed, but, as Jehovah Witnesses, we know it’s just temporary, for we will see him again soon in Jehovah’s New Order.
