My cousin John was 5 years my junior so even though our families spent many times together when we were growing up, he was just a "kid" and his Sister Susan was my age...and better looking. Many years passed before John and I connected on a personal level and in many ways he became more like a brother to me. Our times together were limited to my summer trips to Michigan and our stays on Harsen's Island but we stayed in touch throughout the year by text and phone. We had many more adventures to experience but sadly he left us, and I am heartbroken.
