Obituary of Frederick Werth
Frederick (Fred) Werth passed away after a short illness at the age of 94, May 3, 2024, in Livonia, Michigan.
Fred was born at home, July 30, 1929, to Frederick and Ruth Werth (Sabisch), in Unionville, Michigan.
He joined the US Air Force as an Air Police (AP) and was stationed in Fort Worth, Texas from 1950-54. During that time he was a star baseball player for Carswell AFB. During his enlistment he married, his sweetie, Doris Kaufman, from Sebewaing, Michigan. After an honorable discharge, he was offered multiple professional baseball contracts, but thought it was too late in his life to start a baseball career.
He ultimately joined the Dearborn, Michigan Police Department, where he enjoyed 26 years of service. He was an avid softball player, fisherman, woodworker and Detroit Tiger fan.
He is preceded in death by his late wife, Doris. He is survived by his daughter Peggy (Barry Isaacson); sons, Frederick, Steven and Jeffrey; grandsons Dylan Werth, Sean Egan, Dr. Andrew (Dr. Mirjana) Isaacson, Timothy (Angela) Isaacson and granddaughter Hope Egan. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
