One of the best Chiefs Messes I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with was the stellar group of leaders at the Security Department in Naples Italy. Rick was a standout Chief in that group, dedicated to the people, he tirelessly worked to make sure the entire group was ready for the task. You simply can’t fake his level of dedication. He genuinely cared about everyone he met. An extremely unique and caring man with a heart of gold.

Rick was a man of strength, dignity and love for Jesus Christ. We were all blessed to know him and associate with him. I served with Rick at Stone Haven Methodist in the Children's ministries, the children learned so much about Christ thru Rick and he was respected and well liked by all. When the pandemic struck it was Rick who kept our Sunday School going via zoom. I was privileged to call Rick my friend and I miss him so much. Rick was so genuine, and had compassion for others, always a kind word and smile. My deepest sympathy goes out to his dear wife Amy , his son's and extended family. Blessings, Deanna Cosens

Rick was the first person to invite me to be a part of his Church. I had never had that before. He gave me a new awareness of something I had no understanding of. I am forever grateful for his introduction to the Lord.

I've known Rick for almost 25 yrs. We both were pinned and initiated to Chief Petty Officer up in Newport, RI. We were the 2 ringleaders of our group of slugs....and fun we did have. Beginning of a long friendship and Brotherhood. I was the MC for his retirement ceremony. We shared many many of life's ups & downs together and bounced things off each other. His Family was my family and mine his. So many memories that I could write a book. Even though there were times when we didn't talk so often we always picked up where we left off just like it was yesterday. A True Friend & Brother ! I Love You Rick. Always In My Heart Man !

I only had the pleasure of meeting Rick a few times at seminars. But the way he carried himself with kindness, caring, sharing knowledge, love for God and others. Was impressive and something for others to strive for. He will be missed by many.

Rick was my Chief as a young sailor, always vigilant of the troops, always stern with his leadership, and always fair with his acknowledgements and punishments. I looked up to this man, he was and always will be my CHIEF. Til Valhalla warrior, smooth winds and following seas. Hooyah Ángel Molina (SOC Ret. SEAL)

I knew Rick as the MA1 onboard the USS SIMPSON. I was a knucklehead who got into my fair share of mischief. He was always respectful and patient with me. He saw the good in me and always had a way of putting a positive spin on life. I know I gave him some of his grey hairs with some of my stunts lol but he always knew how to reel me back in. He’s one of the main reasons I was able to stay focused and finish my time in the Navy and get out with an Honorable Discharge. I am a blessed man for being able to be in his company.

Richard was faithful to do every task and served in every capacity that we requested of him at Stone Haven Free Methodist. He was a tremendous blessing to the children. He had a great love for veterans. He help lead several events that targeted veterans. The most recent was a Veteran's Day Dinner for over 160 Veterans. I know he has heard our Lord proclaim, "Well done good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord."

I met Richard in May of 2001. I reported to my first security command there at Naples, Italy.
