Obituary of Mary Ann Robertson
Mary Ann Robertson (nee Cylkowski) died peacefully at home on June 4, 2017, after a long illness, following the passing of her husband, Edward Robertson, on May 2. Born June 11, 1929, in Detroit, she was the daughter of Felix Cylkowski and Florence Kurowski. Mary Ann was a certified X-ray technician at Mount Carmel Hospital in Detroit before marrying Mr. Robertson in 1951. The couple moved to Livonia, where they raised their four children. Mrs. Robertson was a soprano in the Suburban Chorale and sang in the choir at St. Genevieve Catholic Church. The couple retired to Brighton, Mich., where they were joined by their adult children in a large home Mr. Robertson built. Mrs. Robertson is survived by children Noel Robertson, Douglas Robertson, Anita Guethlein and Nicole Robertson (Thom Dougherty); grandchildren Ken Capilla (Monica) and their three children, and Ed Guethlein (Christy) and their two children. Mr. and Mrs. Robertson were members of the Cremation Society of Michigan. A joint memorial for them was held at their home on the day of her death. Donations in her name may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
