I remember Jake as a good-hearted man who enjoyed books - all kinds of books. During his many years with Borders he took pleasure in sharing his knowledge and expertise, helping people find just the right thing. Opening incoming shipments was like Christmas - each box filled with interesting surprises and the potential to learn something new. He liked to be helpful. People looked up to Jake (and not just because of his height!). He wanted the people around him to be happy, and did whatever he could to make it so. He was a kind and endearing companion during the time we had together. God bless you, Jake. You will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends.
