RENE WAS AN INSPIRATION TO MANY OF US AT DAVID GILBOE PHYSICAL THERAPY. KATHY AND I USED TO LOOK FORWARD TO HIM COMING IN TO USE OUR GYM. HE WOULD COME IN FAITHFULLY EVERY WED & FRI...AT FIRST HE WAS A LITTLE CRABBY BUT WE GOT HIM TO SMILE, AND THERE ON IN, HE WOULD TELL US JOKES, SNICKER A LITTLE AND SLOWLY WORK HIS WAY DOWN TO THE GYM. HE BEGAN TO WARM UP TO US AND EVEN BROUGHT US BELGIUM COOKIES ONCE IN A WHILE. IF WE HAD BAKED GOODS IN THE KITCHEN, WE WOULD SURELY SEND HIM HOME WITH SOME...HE LOVED HIS SWEETS ! IF HE MISSED COMING IN, WE WOULD WORRY ABOUT HIM CAUSE THIS WAS HIGHLY UNUSUAL..HE WOULD COME IN ALL KINDS OF WEATHER..EVEN SNOW STORMS! WE WOULD CALL HIS HOME TO MAKE SURE HE WAS OK...AND IF HE COULDNT MAKE IT, HEWOULD CALL US SO WE WOULDNT WORRY... RENE WAS A SWEETHEART, A SOFTIE, UNDER THAT QUIET EXTERIOR. WE GREW TO LOVE HIM LIKE FAMILY..WE WILL SURELY MISS HIM HERE AT GILBOE & ASSOCIATES. MAY GOD RESTHIS SOUL. OUR SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY. YOU ARE IN OUR PRAYERS..... Rene was a great neighbor and a warm hearted person that we'll miss seeing on Aline Dr. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I happened to see Rene leaving his home for the last time in January. I was impressed to see his two sons saluting Rene. Rest in peace Rene. Vince and Doris

Grandpa was the strongest hearted, most thoughtful, bold loving person in the world.He was the best; at sending a card for EVERY holiday, playing euchre, tasting eccentric beers & wines, bringing sweetwater doughnuts, and ALWAYS a bone for the dogs.There was nothing better than getting Grandpa riled up over politics, the stock market, a card game, and especially coming to Kalamazoo for the weekend when he could.Cheers Grandpa, to a great, long life.
