Obituary of Kenneth David Oliver

Loving devoted Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin and Friend passed away peacefully. Ken Oliver is a US Army Vietnam Veteran who served as a Combat Medic and received several medals, including the Bronze Star, Combat Medic Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Markman Badge and a Unit Citation. He was proud to have served his country. He is predeceased by his parents Edward Oliver, & Clara Oliver and his siblings Edward Oliver & Ronald Oliver. He is survived by daughters Sharyl Oliver-Augustitus (Daniel Augustitus) and Tammie Oliver Smith, and grandchildren Dane Augustitus, Tristan Smith and Evie Smith. His love for his family was absolute. To his grandchildren he was their beloved "JaJa" and he took special time for each. Our lives are forever enriched by him and his huge heart. His legacy will live on in those he loved so dearly. Thank you Dad, and JaJa. While he will be missed, he will be lovingly remembered by so many. Ken graduated from St. David's High School in Detroit, MI. Ken attended and received a trade school degree for Tool & Die. He retired from Chrysler as an Assembly Supervisor. Final resting place VA Group Home of Grand Rapids. Favorite place was up north at the cabin where he grew up & enjoyed with his family and friends his entire life. His major projects were modernizing & renovating the cabins for his family to enjoy. Sports, music, animal and nature lover. He enjoyed cooking, hunting and quality time with his family & friends playing cards. Please join the family of Kenneth Oliver for a funeral on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 2:30pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442. Military honors service, catholic services & prayers will be held. May He Rest In Peace. For those of you who knew Ken Oliver, please raise your glass; he would appreciate a good toast in his honor!
