Obituary of George Egon Dembry
George Egon Dembry was born June 20, 1929 in Cologne, Germany. He emigrated to the United States in 1936 with his parents, settling in Detroit. He attended the University of Michigan at age 16, graduating with a Journalism degree. After serving several years in the Army, he went to Europe where he met his future wife Marguerite in Paris. They married in 1954 while he attended the Harvard Business School where he earned an MBA. His career was in finance, banking, REITs. He enjoyed reading, music, sailing, flying, and travelling. His health declined in recent years and he died April 27, 2017. He is survived by his wife Marguerite Dembry, daughters Anne Longe and Louise Dembry, son Paul Dembry, grandchildren Michele Murphy, Philippe Longe, Christopher Longe, Stephen Longe, Alexandra Dembry, Ryan Dembry, Patrick Dembry, and great-grandchildren Teagan Murphy, Shaela Murphy, Nealla Murphy, and Alayna Longe.
