I was the tennis pro at the Grosse Pointe Club in 1973 and got to know Warren and his tennis buddies--among them Monty Gage and Lloyd Marantette. I really enjoyed the camraderie these tennis buddies had. They played with each other often and would exploit each other's weaknesses brilliantly. I knew Warren was a heavyweight in life but not to the extent that I learned in his obituary. He is an inspiration! I'm glad we crossed paths along the way. In the early 2000s my wife and I lived at 1807 Broadway in San Francisco. A new couple moved in next door one day. Over time we got to know them and became friends and lo and behold it was Gina Wilkinson, Warren's granddaughter and her fiance. It was a wonderful small world story.
