Our thoughts and prayers are with your family - so sorry to hear that your Mom, Evelyn, passed away in August. She, your Dad, and our parents (Lucien and Johanna Denys) were such wonderful lifelong friends and had so many good times together. It was our pleasure to have known them both! We are convinced that they are all up in heaven having thier own wienie club, playing cards and enjoying each other's company and most likely some good Belgian beer! dear VanDeWinkle Family, I am so sorry for your loss & thank you for letting me be part of memorial, it was beautiful & sad. Your mom was good to me & I will never forget what she did for me(your dad too). They where like my 2nd mom & dad & I loved them with all my heart. My prayers go out to the VanDeWinkle family, I love you all very much. If there is anything I can do, I will. Your mom & dad will always hold a special place in my heart. Evelyn is now at peace. Her and Walter can now share their lives once again, together, forever. I commented with humor on Walter's obit that he was riding in that big Roadmaster in the sky, having a beer and smoking a cigarette. Now Evelyn is beside him, encouraging him boldly to watch the road with both hands on the wheel.

Dear all - we are so sad to hear about your mom's passing. I remember how much fun I had with her and Wally growing up. Always envied thier life going to all the parties and Weenie Roasts with their Belguim friends. They were always having a good time. I did a lot of babysitting for all you kids back then.
