Obituary of George Eugene Carlino
George Eugene Carlino was born February 18, 1937 to the late Charles and Josephine (Ingrao) Carlino. God called George home on January 10, 2017. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of nearly 49 years, Maria (Bucci) Carlino, five children; Laura (Richard) Bice, Renee (Gerald) Salerno, Janine (Dan) Vought, George (Vicki) Carlino Jr., Georgette (Erich) McDade, 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and first cousins George Carlino and Jesse Ancona. George was born in Detroit, Michigan, but raised in Yuba City, California. After returning to Michigan, he met and married Maria and together they raised their family in Sterling Heights, Michigan. George and Maria eventually retired to Higgins Lake, where they worshiped at Markey Baptist Church. Professionally trained in the culinary arts, he enjoyed working in the restaurant business both as a chef and manager. He later enjoyed a career in Real Estate sales, but his passion always remained with cooking and hospitality a passion still shared by his children. George was not one to sit still. He loved to travel, play cards and get together with friends and family. He volunteered for Hope Network, transporting people to and from their doctor appointments. George was a devoted, loving husband, father and nonno. He took great pride in caring and providing for his family. He was always prepared with a plan. Even to the very end, he was certain to be sure that mom would be cared for and surrounded by her children, for such a time as this. He instilled in his children the commitment to family and the importance of accountability. When we reflect on the memories of our father, we will be reminded of his good heart and his cheerful smile. He will be sorely missed, but we will forever carry a bit of him within each of us. Rev. Dr. James N. Kent, Pastor Emeritus, of Markey Church, Roscommon, will officiate the memorial service, to be held on March 4, 2017 at CrossPoint Church, 44000 North Avenue, Clinton Township, MI 48036. Family will receive guests at 11:30 am, with service at 12:00 pm and lunch immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Markey Baptist Church, 4736 N. Flint Road, Roscommon, MI 48653
