Kimberly Pare' Hagen posted a condolence

We just opened today's Sunday Free Press and saw the thoughtful obituary for Aunt Carol. She was an amazing woman, both professionally and personally. I'll always remember her energetic voice and how she worked so hard to please and help others. She never forgot a birthday, holiday or important milestone in our lives. I remember the nice meals she cooked, and her many stories of the old Schulte Days, back when my mom and grandpa were alive. They used to set in Grandma's living room & watch Hogan's Heroes and laugh themselves silly. She absolutely adored all her nieces and nephews, and got the greatest kick out of Bob & Sharon. I am so glad that her best buddy Marge (& Bob!) was included because every time I talked to Aunt Carol, Marge's doings were also included. It's a shame she passed away so young, but will always be alive in our hearts, our stories, and our happy memories. RIP Aunt Carol! Kim, Warren and Vincent Hagen

Carol's friends from St. Mary's School wish to convey our condolences to her family. It seems she was the same fun loving girl we remember. We had been searching for her the past year and a half hoping to see her again and are very saddened that we didn't find her in time. She was never forgotten and will always have a place in our memories. Friends and classmates from St. Mary's High School

I was shocked and saddened to just learn of Carol's passing from friend and former co-worker, Vaughn Everhart. Carol was such a beautiful and colorful person and so dedicated to her job at GM. We were close friends at Fisher Body then CPC, and continued to correspond for many years after we both retired. I hadn't heard from her in a couple of years and thought of her often, hoping to get in touch again soon. We shared a love for parrots, dogs, boats, and enjoyed girl talk about our families and love lives. Carol was always singing the praises of her nieces and nephews -- she loved you all so much! May God grant all who loved her peace.

Carol and I spent many years sharing an office. She worked for the head of engineering and I worked in manufacturing. Carol and I had a lot in common - neither of us had any children, but both of our brothers had four sons, which they both shared with us. We were both very close to all those boys and watched and shared their lives go on, get married and having children. Not forgetting her sister, Betty, whom I had met and she always talked about her two daughters. Carol and I would spend our lunch hours by walking around the inside of the building and, of course, talking about anything and everything - that was our form of exercise and staying in shape. I came over from Scotland in 1956, and it was a dream of both Carol's and mine that we would take a trip over there. We were going to sail on the QE2, tour England and Scotland, then fly back. Needless to say, it never developed, much to my disappointment. I am so very sad that she was taken so early in life. My husband was born the same year as Carol and he died in 2001, at age 60. She was a great comfort to me at that time. I will miss her very much. May peace be with all of you.
