Tuesday, Sept. 08. 2020 To The Family of Ralph Watkins I am very pleased to have found this very dear family who was a big part of my life after high school graduation in 1958 until 1962. My name is Suzanne Sue Brown - (Martinsky) and I was the secretary who worked for Waldo and Ralph at the W W Watkins Mortgage BrokerageInsurance Company. The office was in Room 1213 of the alias LaFayette Building in Downtown Detroit. Waldo and his son Ralph both taught me a lot about mortgages and insurance. Twelve years have passed since your dear Ralph died. He was truly loved by me everyone that knew him. I think of them both today every time I have to deal with my own mortgage and insurance needs. I have such fond memories of those happy exciting years working for this wonderful family! Thank you Mr. Watkins and Ralph! Sue Brown-Martinsky San Jose, CA

I WAS EMPLOYED AT COLONIAL FEDERAL SAVINGS & LOAN FROM 1975 THRU EARLY 1986. RALPH WAS MY IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR. MY EMPLOYMENT DURING THIS PERIOD WAS PROBABLY THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY CAREER. RALPH WAS A GREAT MOTIVATOR AND HIS KNOWLEDGE OF THE BUSINESS HELPED ME IN MY BANKING CAREER. RALPH WAS A CARING INDIVIDUAL WITH A SENSE OF HUMOR. AFTER LEAVING COLONIAL I OFTEN THOUGHT OF RALPH AS THE BEST SUPERVISOR I EVER WORKED UNDER. HE WAS A GREAT GUY AND WILL BE MISSED.

Ralph Watkins was a well respected member and Commodore of Crescent Sail Yacht Club. Ralph did an exemplary job of steering the club through changing times while maintaining a continued focus on the values of camaraderie and fellowship amongst the members. He was an excellent role model whose wisdom and leadership set high standards for others to follow. Seeing Ralph at Crescent was always a welcome sight, as was seeing the CSYC Commodore’s burgee flying during his tenure as a club officer. Ralph was a pleasant and upbeat member of the community who made a positive impact on those who knew him. He will be missed.

Dear Jeanette and family---I was saddened to hear about Ralph's passing. We have been working together on the CSYC Monday nights doublehanded sailing race committee during June and August for a number of years. This past Monday was the first June evening regatta for 2008. His absence on the race committee was all too evident to all of us on the CSYC breakwall. Hopefully he is out sailing with eternally perfect winds and seas.

What a loss for all those that knew Ralph. My Dad died when I was young and when I met Ralph he really took the place of my Dad in so many ways, He touched so many hearts and was a true friend to many, His great sense of humor along with his love of his family and sailing will be missed so much. His course in life was true and always on the mark. His council to Leona and I was always sincere and helped guide us at a age when we needed same. Ralph showed the world what life was all about. Indeed,he lead by example. Janet, Dale please know that Ralph was admired and loved by so many people. Hold close to your heart the time you had with him. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help ease your pain. Love Tom and Leona

Dear Jeanette and family, For the last eighteen years Ralph was the mainstay for Crescent’s Monday Night Race. For the last nine years he was the man I could count on week after week to make it to the starting line. When there was no wind he would comfort me with his warm smile, he would humor me when the waves were rough, and support me when I went the wrong way. He will be missed and always remembered.
