I'd like to thank everyone for your kind and comforting words on behalf of the Harvey family. Russell was my father and the kind of dad the neighborhood kids flocked to. He had a very creative streak in him as well, writing plays and dinner theater and even a recorded reggae song. Thank you all so much.

Dear Family. Russ was one of my oldest friends, having gone to Stiles School with him from the 2nd grade on. He was a special friend and an unquestionably unique individual. His world was filled with laughter and he will sorely be missed by anyone whose life he touched. He was proud of his family and his country. My condolences go out to his entire family. A very special person has gone on to something better and he will be greatly missed.

(Please see that a copy of this message gets to Donna and Pat) Donna and Pat- - My brother Don and I send our deepest sympathy. Don lives in Linden, Michigan, and I live in Tucson, Az. I look at the obits in the Oakland Press every day, and found Russell's. Our families have had virtually no contact for well over 50 years, but I have such fond memories of Orchard View, particularlly visiting with the Kennedy's. Your folks, the Kennedy's and my folks would get together for potlucks, etc., ever so often. No one can take those wonderful memories of my childhood away from me, and you are a part of them. It always seemed as though you, Millie, Ruth and Joyce, were all so much older than I, but now that we are up in years we're pretty close in age. All relative, I guess. Your Dad built on the addition to our house on Lovell Road just before the war started. I can remember watching him work. I do get back home every year. Have been in Tucson 42 years, but Rochester will always be home. Two years ago, Don and I went and walked through Stiles. What a smile that was. The murals are still on the walls in Mrs. Baker's room. Nice to chat with you just sorry it was at a difficult time. Mariel Fairchild mariel53@juno.com

I met Russ through writing to his wife Ann (for 62 years) and visited their home several times, meeting their family too, and being made most welcome. Russ was charming, artistic, erudite and we had many happy conversations over the years. So many lovely memories of Russ. I was very lucky to have spoken to him one last time recently. He will be sadly missed by many. Our most sincere condolences to Ann, Alinda, Mark, Karen and their respective families, from Pam, Albert, Martin, Simon, Tim and families.

I met Russell a few years ago, at Bullfrogs. Of course, I know him as Captain Karaoke. He was a great singer, and a really nice guy. I will never forget him. I will miss him every time I hear the song...New York, New York. He is singing it to a much bigger crowd, now. Im sure of it. Take care..God bless.

The family has my condolences. Though I didn't know Mr Harvey other than an introduction or two, I knew some of his family. It is always sad to have a family member pass..
