Obituary of Phyllis Leanore Sahlin
Phyllis Leanore Sahlin, Age 94, passed away February 4, 2014. Phyllis retired from Ford Tractor after working as an executive secretary for 30 years. The loving wife of the late George W. Sahlin. Dear mother of Barbara (Lawrence) Spencer and Diana (Theodore) Golden. Also loved by her grandchildren: Eric Spencer, Bryan Spencer, Jason Spencer, David Golden, Jonathan Golden, and her great grandchildren: Blair Spencer, Clay Spencer, Harry Spencer, Scarlett Spencer and Hudson Spencer.
Phyllis enjoyed the arts and surrounding herself with beautiful things. She was fond of making her own art work, drawing and using water colors. She took pleasure in the beauty of nature around her; the trees, flowers, sunrises and sunsets. Music was a passion of hers as well. Phyllis played the piano and enjoyed listening to music. Attending the Detroit Symphony Orchestra was a true highlight.
Being very active throughout her life, Phyllis enjoyed golfing and took home several prized trophies from the golf league while working at Ford Tractor. Many car trips to Florida included stops on the way to play at different courses, taking in the scenery and people.
Her travels included places near and far, but spending winter months in Florida led to one of her favorite pastimes later in life; walking on the beach. This again allowed her to enjoy the simple beauty of her surroundings.
