Nothing but pleasant memories of Mr. Ballo (Pete) and the family from CYO to time spent in the Traverse City area with my family. I can hear my dad now calling out his name...Peter and he replying in his bright eyed way coupled with his smile Ralph! This fall my work took me to the Lexington area where CYO is located. I pulled into the gravel drive, down the gravel road, stopping in the large yardfield where the bathshower rooms are. Time stood still. Memories flooded back of 50 yrs ago. Pete Ballo's kindness stood out

My Dad and Mom have known the Ballo family for many years and I've always admired Pete's gentle caring nature. I'll cherish the many memories of the fly-in fishing trips with my dad, Pete and many of The Cursillista's that were part of those trips. The Renel and Ballo family ties ran deep. My sincere condolences to the Ballo family.

So sad to hear the news. I cherish my childhood memories spending fun times with Uncle Pete, Aunt Helen, and my cousins. Uncle Pete did his best to help keep the extended Ballo family as connected as possible throughout his life. He was truly a “great man.” RIP

Mr. Pete was a great neighbor, a kind man who always had a kind word and friendly smile. When I think of Pete, I think of him riding his bike, walking his Samoyed, or coming across the street to visit. He was always very kind to my kids, my son Alan treasures Pete's painting that he was gifted upon graduation. Pere (and Helen) have always been exactly the kind of neighbor everyone would want. He is missed. My heartfelt condolences to the entire family.

To all of the Ballo Family, Our hearts are saddened by the loss of your Patriarch of the Family....He was a Great Man and a Great Friend of our entire Family and I personally have so many wonderful memories of him and the entire Family. This includes CYO Camp weeks, Cursillo events....obviously our Family gatherings, Port Huron Gatherings at the Cottage, Ski Weekends at Major Mountain....etc, etc. I can only think about the Joy of Him and my own Father celebrating! May God provide comfort and Peace in the coming time. His life should surely be celebrated as I know you are planning! We will be there to celebrate him as well. Sincerely, David & Rhonda Moran

What a powerful yet gentle presence was our dear friend Pete Ballo. He brought me great joy with the ever-present twinkle in his eye and his deep devotion to God. He was a multi-talented man devoted to expressing the currents of love and connection dwelling deep in his heart, whether through his work in the Cursillo movement or his fantastic art. I aspire to be guided by his inspiration this day and every other one vouchsafed to me on this planet. Thanks for you, Pete!
