Obituary of Joseph James Monforton
Joseph James Monforton, age 77, passed away while surrounded by his family: Arla (Tim) Theisen, Joe (Sherry) Monforton, Amy (Doug) Monforton- Flegal, Adam (Nedene) Monforton, and his dear friend Lori Jones. He also had two stepsons Christopher and Richard Begeny. He was preceded in death by his wife Debra, his siblings Leo, Earl, Clarice and Gladys and his parents Joseph and MaryRose (Clarice) Monforton. He is survived by his loving sister Joyce, along with his beloved 24 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, then enjoyed a lengthy career as a flooring installer. He had been a volunteer firefighter for Plymouth Township and was a retired member of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Ohio Carpenters unions. He loved his many deer hunting trips with his family.
A life celebration has been planned for 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Courthouse Grille 41661 Plymouth Road Plymouth, MI 48170
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Henry Ford Hospice in Detroit.
