Obituary of Frances Lorraine Cassady

Frances Lorraine Cassady, age 91 on October 22, 2013 in Peoria, AZ, formerly of Novi, Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. Beloved wife of 65 years of Robert "Jack" Cassady (deceased 2008). Leaves three sons: Kenneth (Kathy Needham) of Farmington Hills, Dennis (Cheryl) of Sun City, AZ and Kevin (Suzanne) of Westland. In addition she leaves grandchildren D.J., Lauren, Colleen and Erin and six great-grandchildren. Frances was born on July 5, 1922 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Emily and Phillip Weiss. She was raised there with her late sisters Gladys and Marjory. In 1942 she married Jack Cassady, a Royal Canadian Air Force recruit from Windsor, Ontario. After service in Europe in World War II, Jack was reunited with Fran in Winnipeg. In 1950 they moved to Windsor and in 1955 to Detroit's northwest side where they raised their young boys. Frances went to business college in Canada after high school and subsequently had a variety of office jobs over the years. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, knitting, crafts, casino slots, travel (Las Vegas the most) and socializing with a close group of friends. A memorial service is planned soon in the Detroit area. The remains of Fran and Jack will be inurned together in the Cassady family plot in Paris, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
