Obituary of Allen Eugene Jones

Allen Eugene Jones passed away on September 7, 2016 peacefully at his home, in Deckerville, Michigan. He was born on January 28, 1948. Allen leaves behind his loving wife of forty-five years, Mary Lou (Houthoofd), who he married on June 19, 1971 at the Wisner United Methodist Church. Allen also leaves behind his daughter, Maicie; son, Bretton; and grandson, Bastian. He was pre-deceased by his father, Frederick, and brothers, Ronald and Kenneth. Surviving him are his mother, Marie, and sisters, Donna and Barbara, as well as many nieces and nephews. Allen graduated from Deckerville High School in 1966. He then graduated from Wayne State University as a Certified Public Accountant and Detroit College of Law with a Juris Doctorate. Allen worked as an Attorney and Certified Public Accountant at his office in Deckerville for over thirty years. He was committed to justice and his clients, to whom he donated much time and energy. Allen was an active member of the Forester United Methodist Church and anonymously supported many charitable organizations. He was active in the recovery community, counseling inmates in the Sanilac County Jail and serving on the Sobriety Court Board in Caro, Michigan. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and canning produce from his vegetable garden. Visitation will be held at the Forester United Methodist Church (2481 N Lakeshore Road, Carsonville, Michigan) on Saturday, September 24 with visitation starting at 10 am and a service officiated by the Rev Ellen Schippert at 11 am. Per the family's wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Assistance in Healthcare (P.O. Box 396, Zion, IL 60099). Memorials can also be made to the college fund of Allen's grandson, Bastian of whom he was very proud and loved with his entire heart (c/o Mary Lou Jones, 2444 Maple St, Deckerville, MI 48427).
