Obituary of Donald Robert Wieland

WIELAND, Donald Robert, 74, April 30, 2016. Fine artist and commercial illustrator, son of auto designer Robert Wieland and Elma Wieland, both deceased, Don is survived by his loving daughter Alissa Wieland-Polk, of Las Vegas, brother Gary Wieland of Monschau, Germany, sister Susan Beadle, of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI and close friend Judy Grech, of Birmingham, MI. Don had many life long friends from the strong metro Detroit art community, including but not limited to his closest artist friend, Gary Shortt, of Rochester Hills, Mi. In lieu of a funeral, the family is planning a celebration of his life to be held at a later date when everyone has been notified. He will be greatly missed.
