Obituary of Dawn Marie Jarman

An earthly Angel of love and compassion, brimming with a zeal for life, was taken unexpectedly from her family (husband Bruce Jarman and mother Evelyn Hawes) and friends on January 1, 2016, having reached the tender age of only 45 years. Dawn found herself struggling early in life, fighting an uphill battle to keep cancer from stealing her determination to live a rich, meaningful life. It was not in her nature to give up or give in, preferring instead to embrace her challenges and forge ahead, making the best of whatever came her way She was, and still is, an inspiration to all who knew her, and her steadfast perseverance to live, and live abundantly, has impressed youngster and adult alike. During her career as a teacher of elementary and middle school in the Warren Consolidated Public School System, she acquired a devoted following of young people, many of whom she remained in contact with, even after a devastating setback left her with a weakened heart, which prevented her from returning to her profession of teaching. Undaunted, it became her mission to shine as a beacon of hope to her family and friends, and reach as many lives as possible through social media, actively using FaceBook to uplift and edify a grateful, and ever growing, collection of online friends, now sadly mourning her passing. No one could ever enumerate the hundreds of lives she has impacted and influenced in so many positive ways. Over the years, she has refused to let her medical issues keep her from fostering at risk dogs and deciding to adopt a few along the way. As a result of her love and compassion, Dawn has worked selflessly at promoting and eventually founding a program called "The Rolling Pup," a "not for profit" entity which provides DIY plans, and custom carts free of charge, to enable dogs who have missing or injured hind limbs the opportunity to run and play just like their healthy counterparts. Hers was an adventurous spirit, kind, precious and beautiful in every way. She succumbed to a heart attack on New Years day, a full year and a half after she bravely rebuffed her most recent brush with mortality. If heaven needs a reason to exist, providing a soft landing place for Dawn to spend eternity is sufficient to justify the vastness of the universe, for she is the role model we should all strive to emulate. She is, most assuredly, loved beyond measure, and will be missed, inconsolably, by those of us she leaves behind. Farewell, dear, kind, wonderful Lady, the world is better for your life, and poorer for your departure. In Observance of her advance desire to dispense with the solemnity of a funeral, there are plans, currently in the making, to gather together in her honor, for an old fashioned Ice Cream Social, where one and all will be invited to celebrate Dawn's abundant love of life. Please watch for a forthcoming announcement of the time and place. Those who would like to donate in honor of Dawn's memory are invited to send a gift to a "no-kill" animal shelter of your choice (if you don't know if they are no-kill, ask), or to support "The Rolling Pup." If you do not have a favorite shelter, perhaps "Safe Harbor Animal Rescue of Jonesboro, GA" would appreciate your generous support.
