Obituary of John J. Blase, Sr.

John J. Blase, Sr., passed away peacefully on the morning of October 26, 2009. Born on March 7, 1943, Dr. Blase, a neuropsychologist in private practice, was an avid cyclist and golfer. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force, and a past president of the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology. An eternal optimist, he will be missed by his spouse, Rosemary Blase and children Gretchen Blase-Kreidler (Eric Kriedler), John Blase Jr. (Jennifer Kaiser-Blase) and Gregory Blase as well as his adored grandson John Blase III. He will also be missed by his mother Margaret Blase of Utica N.Y., brother Nicholas Blase (Diane) and sisters Carol LaFache and Margaret Cohen (David) as well as many loving nieces and nephews and longtime friends Nevin, Sherry, Claudia and Fred Rose. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday November, 8 at the Huntington Woods Community Center, 26325 Scotia Rd., Huntington Woods, 48070. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Hospices of Henry Ford, the Hermelin Brain Tumor Center or a charity of your choice.
