Obituary of Richard Frank Scavo
Richard Frank Scavo, 68, of Farmington Hills and Bellaire, Michigan passed away peacefully of heart failure on July 23, 2019. He was born in Pontiac June 22, 1951, son of Frank and Helene (Bennett) Scavo. Rick married Linda Gorbutt on October 3, 1987 in Bloomfield Hills after a long courtship. The multitudes of those who knew him, were acutely aware of his kind and generous heart. His personality was larger than life! He wanted to Do Everything and he wanted to encourage those around him to enjoy what he treasured too. He had lived his entire life with enthusiasm, self motivated drive and accomplishments. He Graduated from West Bloomfield High School in 1968, through hard work and scholarships he went on to achieve two Master's degrees from the University of Michigan. He began his own practice in Farmington Hills in 1990. He loved giving to people. He generously donated to individuals and charities alike. Contributing both his time and monetarily to local schools, sports clubs and religious groups' efforts to help them reach their own goals. Rick was a member of all of the Dental and Orthodontic Associations, several sportsman clubs, was a certified NRA and self defense instructor and even more recently had become an ordained minister. Rick had Many passions, which included his loving family, wife, which he'd always affectionally referred to as "Lindy" and their two daughters, Alyssa Richelle and Alayna Noelle. He love and participated in many fascinating sports over the course of his intensely lived time here, but he was also extremely passionate about the care and results of his many patients over his vast career. There was never any compromise made on the level of devotion this man gave to God, family, friends (ALL were welcome!) and his beloved patients. His remains will be laid to rest beside his parents at Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona, Michigan. There will be a "Celebration of Life" in leu of funeral at a time to be announced in the future.
