Obituary of Christa Elsa Mancia

Mrs. Christa Elsa Mancia, age 83, of St. Clair Shores, MI, passed away Wednesday night, September 25, at her residence. She was born October 5, 1935, in Zeulenroda, Germany, daughter of the late Hans and Hilda. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Karlfredrich and Heiner and her son-in-law Michael DeClerck. Christa is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Donald, their four children Rosemary DeClerck, Daniel Mancia, Catherine Lloyd, and Connie Shea (Jack); ten grandchildren: Melissa, Josh, Angela, Tyler, Lauren, Zack, Eric, Riley, Molly, and Brian; and two great grandchildren Grace and Samantha. Christa was a dedicated wife and mother. She immigrated to America from Germany and couldn't have been more proud to become a U.S. citizen soon after. She absolutely loved all things sweet, a good cup of tea, and the color green. She will be remembered as an extremely caring and thoughtful person that will be forever missed by her family. In accordance with her wishes, immediate family will gather to celebrate her life and their memories of her. However, the family encourages you to share your remembrances and condolences below.
