To Tommy,Family and Friends,
I mourn the loss of my dear friend John Teamer. He was not only my best friend, but also
my golf partner of about 45 years. No matter how well or badly we played he brought joy to
every round. I can remember the countless moments of severe competition that we shared as
one of us tried to claim the weekly bragging rights. I always looked forward to Saturday’s golf
and the camaraderie we shared on the course.
But today I remember and pay tribute to a remarkable individual and beloved friend.
He has left an indelible mark on my life as well as thoughts of many others. It is with a heavy
heart that I bid farewell to John Teamer or JT as I always referred to him. He was not just a
friend, but a cherished confidante for over 45 years of my life.
The bonds of friendship are often described as special, but when they span the test of time
and distance, they truly are extraordinary. JT and I shared a friendship that endured for
decades. We laughed together and supported each other through life's trials and triumphs.
As I reflect on the memories I shared with JT it's impossible not to smile through the tears.
I can remember the golf course shenanigans, joking, following Tiger Woods career and
conversations on the state of world politics.
The Northern Michigan weekend golf outings that we occasionally took are so full of many
memories. We had many jokes and laughs that only the guys in the foursome would
understand. JT had an uncanny ability to light up a round of golf with his presence and make
everyone feel at ease.
But today, I confront the harsh reality that life is ephemeral, and even the strongest
must eventually yield to time. It is in this moment of sadness that we should remember the gift
of John’s friendship. His kindness, loyalty, and unwavering support that enriched my life in
countless ways. In grief, let us also find solace in the legacy that he leaves behind. The
memories we shared, the lessons we learned, and the love we felt that will forever be a part of
us. JT may
no longer be with us in person, but his spirit lives on in our hearts and in the stories we tell.
Your spirit will forever live on in the fairways and greens we once conquered together. Rest in
Peace my friend, and may your drives always find the short grass in a perfect fairway in the
great beyond.
As we say our final goodbye, let us honor JT’s memory by continuing to cherish the
friendships we have, by being kinder, more compassionate, and by living our lives to the fullest.
In this way, we keep his legacy alive, and his light will continue to shine through us.
JT, you will be deeply missed, but your memory will remain eternally cherished. Rest in peace,
my brother, knowing that you were loved, and you will always be loved.
