Obituary of James Ronald Wilmoth

Our Dad, James Ronald Wilmoth was born June 29, 1949 in Hamtramck MI at St Francis Hospital (Now Hamtramck City Hall) and passed away on October 20, 2023 at the age of 74.

He was an entrepreneur in the fields of Statue Manufacturing (Jim’a Arts and Crafts Shoppee with his first wife, Sharon) and Landlord in the Chene Street area.

He is survived by his daughters Theresa (Ray Klotz) Morris, Ronda (Steve) Sullivan, Angela Wilmoth (with his ex-wife Janene Wilmoth), his stepdaughter Anna (Daniel) DeLoof and his sister, Jackie Trzaskos and her family. Also, his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren (step and natural).

He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Wilmoth and his father George Wilmoth Jr, his first ex-wife, Sharon and his children, Eric (Carrie) Wilmoth and Aaron Wilmoth. Also, his Stepdaughters Rebecca Becovic, Josephine Piasecki and Kathryn Purovic.  His brother-in-law Rodney Trzaskos.

Although he never married his sweetheart, Verdner (commonly known as Vern) Dutton, he spent many of his last years with her prior to her illness and death.

Our Dad was an interesting character.  He loved learning about many things.  He had the TV station on The History Channel or Discovery when I came to visit and many Time-Life books in his library. He always wanted to learn about something and had many obsessions over the years.  At one time he started with one parakeet and next thing you know he had 110 birds, all kinds.  He loved plants, we had a back porch full of them and at one point he had the most beautiful garden you could imagine.  We grew up on a farm in the middle of Detroit.  He had chickens and rabbits.  He grew tomatoes and cucumbers.  You could go berry picking in the backyard for any berry you could imagine.  That in Statue manufacturing became a business and we all were involved at the time.

We just want to say “Hee-Haw” Dad.  We will miss you.

1 Corinthians 13

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
