Obituary of Evelyn Margaret Ritenour

With heavy hearts, we announce the loss of an incredible woman, Evelyn Margaret (Elliott) Ritenour.  On March 27^th, 2024, Evelyn age 97, passed peacefully in her home in Northville, Michigan.  Evelyn was born to Joseph and Georgina (Urquhart) Elliott on July 5^th, 1926, in Highland Park, Michigan.  She is proceeded in death by her husband Donald, and brothers, William, John (Jack), and Thomas Elliott.

Evelyn graduated from Central Michigan University and achieved her degree in Chemistry, Biology and Social Science. She taught grade school through high school until she became a mother. She then continued to be a substitute teacher.

Evelyn was married to Donald Curtis Ritenour for 64 years. She was dedicated to putting others first and had devoted her life to her family, church family, and those they helped through their mission “People In Need”. She was an active member of St Timothy’s Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing the bells and was the first to always greet new faces.

 Much loved mother of, Curtis Ritenour (Deborah), JoEllen Ritenour, and Susan Antes (Steve); Cherished grandmother of Bridget Goss (Chris), Derrick Ritenour, Jennifer Bisio (Tom), Travis Ritenour, Daniel Ritenour (Madyson), Katie Antes-Tadros (Jeremy), Jason Antes (Elizabeth)and Amber Wilks (Scott). Along with great grandchildren, Courtney, Stephanie, Grant, Hayden, Brady, Kinsley, Lakelynn, Lily, Luke, Allison, Riley, and great great grandchildren Elliona, Rose. Also beloved Aunt to Patricia Welland (Thomas), Beverly Simmonds, Amy Elliott and Tracie LaMee (Rich).                                

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 13th,2024 at:

 St. Timothy’s Presbyterian Church 16700 Newburgh Road Livonia, Michigan 48154

 Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
