George E. Latcham June 7, 1921 - October 31, 2008
George Latcham died peacefully at home. A devoted husband, and loving father, Mr. Latcham, nick-named "Lucky Latch," was proud to support his country as a Naval officer in WWII, where he served as a fighter pilot. After the war, Mr. Latcham entered the wholesale lumber distribution business, where he remained until his retirement.
His survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jeanne; son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Linda Latcham, of Grosse Pointe Farms; daughter and son-in-law Cie Marie and David Anderson, of Half Moon Bay, California; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Greg French, of Inverness, Illinois; daughter and son-in-law Anne and Bill Umphrey, of Concord, Massachusetts; and twelve grandchildren: Ryan, Kyle, Patrick and Eric Latcham; David, Elizabeth and Victoria Anderson; Tom, Katie, and J.P French; and Duncan and Hillary Umphrey.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St, Thomas More Catholic Church, Troy, at noon on Saturday , November 29, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Most Holy Trinity Church, Detroit.
